Throughout the year, Hands of Peace holds educational events for our American parents and adults supporters. We also hold occasional gatherings for our Israeli and Palestinian parents. Events include guest lectures, film dialogue nights, holiday parties and fundraisers, and community service projects.
As a dialogue organization, Hands of Peace intentionally exposes our supporters to speakers and films that offer diverse perspectives on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Following each film or presentation, adult supporters share their feelings and viewpoints with one another in small group discussions facilitated by HOP staff and volunteers—thus simulating the intensive dialogue experience that our teenage participants undergo.
To learn about upcoming Hands of Peace events, please see our Chicago Events and San Diego Events pages, "like" us on Facebook, and email firstname.lastname@example.org to join our mailing list. Please also consider joining one of our American volunteer committees-- including host family recruitment, participant recruitment, Culture Night, Farewell Banquet, and program planning. Email Scott Silk (email@example.com) to volunteer in San Diego and Rhonda McCarty (RMcCarty@handsofpeace.org) to volunteer in Chicago.
It's so important to send our future generations to such programs, so they will have a better future than we had.
